St. Cabrini Nursing Home is a 304-bed skilled nursing facility located on the Hudson River in Dobbs
Ferry, New York, about twenty miles from midtown Manhattan. The nursing home stands on property originally
acquired by Mother Cabrini in 1914 and opened as an orphanage. In 1928, the children were moved to St.
Cabrini Home in West Park, New York and a boarding school for girls was opened at the Dobbs Ferry site.
In 1966, the school was closed and plans were made for a 200-bed extended care facility which opened
in 1973. In 1985, St. Cabrini Nursing Home began a long-term home health care program that provides most
nursing home services to people in their own homes. This began by serving 50 people and has expanded to
serve 250 people.
In 1989, the 100th anniversary of Mother Cabrini's arrival in the United States, St. Cabrini Nursing
Home opened a new wing and renovated a large portion of the original building. This increased capacity
to 304 residents.
Comprehensive care is provided in nursing, social service, pastoral care, physical therapy, occupational
therapy, speech therapy and activities. The average age of our residents is 85 years old.
St. Cabrini Nursing Home continues to provide compassionate healthcare as it
prepares for the next century.
