Cabrini College is a Catholic, coeducational, residential, undergraduate
college founded in 1957 by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC). The College, which
offers programs of study in liberal arts and professional studies, is equally committed to commuter, graduate
and adult studies. Nationwide, the College was one of the first institutions of higher learning to implement
community service into its curriculum in 1989, and was the first in the state of Pennsylvania to require
community service of all students in 1991.
LOCATION: Cabrini College is nestled in the heart of the Philadelphia Main Line suburb of Radnor
amidst a 110-acre wooded campus. Adding to the majestic campus are handsome turn-of-the-century mansions
which were once owned by James Dorrance, inventor of the formula for condensed soup and president of Campbell
Soup Company. State-of-the-art buildings also complement the existing architectural design. The active
life found on campus is enhanced further by being only 30 minutes away from a city rich in cultural and
social offerings.
ENROLLMENT: 1,218 full-time undergraduate men and women, including students from 25 countries,
and more than 300 graduate students, and 600 adult learners.
DEGREES OFFERED: Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Science in Education; Bachelor
of Social Work; and Master of Education.
STUDENT/FACULTY RATIO: 14:1 and average class size 18.
ALUMNI: All graduates of Cabrini College are automatically members of the Alumni Association.
There are 6,000 undergraduate and graduate alumni of the College.
BUILDINGS: Seventeen buildings are located on the campus. Among the buildings are two traditional
residence halls, which house first-year and upper-level students, seven residential houses and an apartment
like complex for upper-level students. A 64,000 square-foot Sports and Recreation facility opened in January
1998. The main classroom building, Sacred Heart Hall, is currently undergoing a $2 million phased renovation.
GRADUATE SCHOOL: More than 20 percent of the College's graduates enroll in advanced degree programs
immediately following graduation.
CO-OP: Cabrini is one of the few private Catholic colleges in Pennsylvania offering Co-Op, a
program in which students can work part-time in their chosen fields, earn a salary, and receive college
credit for experience.
ATHLETICS: The College is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division
III and the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC).
