Hi, my name is Judy Flichtbeil. I was born and raised in a family of six in Portland, Oregon, the youngest with three older brothers. I have spent the last four years studying psychology and justice & peace at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Having attended a Jesuit high school and university, in a sense, the Jesuits raised me. This Jesuit education taught me to be a “woman for others” through being aware of the world around me and working for positive change. My goal in life is to work for this positive change through my job. I wish to attend graduate school after volunteering to become a clinical child psychologist, so that I can help our children and our future.
I am very excited about this next year and all the good and bad times it may bring. I will serve as a social work aide at Incarnation Children’s Center, a residential treatment center in New York City for children who are HIV positive. I look forward to learning a great deal not only about New York and HIV/AIDS, but about myself. I know I will grow and become a better individual. Thank you all for helping to give me this opportunity. |
