Applying to Cabrini Mission Corps
Admissions is a process of mutual discernment that begins with your initial contact with CMC and the completion of a preliminary application form. The process proceeds with a written application, which includes personal references, academic transcripts and a physical exam. It continues with three days of personal interviews in the Philadelphia area with the CMC's Director, consulting psychologist and Interview Committee. The CMC's Director typically contacts applicants with the outcome within two weeks of the interviews.
Please note: Overseas placements require substantial volunteer experience
and a minimum of three months living experience in a developing country. A minimum
age of 25 is required for service in Swaziland, Southern Africa.
Admission Requirements
- Christian women and men who desire to grow in and live out their faith
- 21 years of age or older
- Single or married couples with no dependents
- Good physical and mental health
- Willingness to make a commitment
- Adaptable to diverse cultures and situations
- College education or work experience
- Language skills where necessary, especially Spanish; Chinese, Russian, Italian or Tagalog also helpful
- Very proficient Spanish for some placements in Chicago, IL.
- One-year commitment for USA; Two-year commitment for overseas. For all overseas ministries, at least 3 months of lived experience in a developing country is required. For Africa, must be at least 25 years of age or older.
- Previous commitment to volunteer or service activities (church, school, community)
- Willingness to live in a religious community
- Written application, reference, medical form and academic transcripts
- Personal interviews held in Radnor, Pennsylvania
- Persons will not be considered for acceptance by Cabrini Mission Corps until at least one year after a major life change (e.g. marriage, divorce, death of a loved one, laicization, conversion to Catholicism, etc.)
